Over the next few weeks, we're going to be posting some self-help tools for you to use and share on your journey to recovery from self-harm. This week we want to help you think about addiction and the hold it can begin to have over our lives. Self-harm is controlling in it’s very nature and by having and remembering the addiction cycle it can help us to reduce our harm, but more than this it helps us to remember that it is not something that is cured or goes away overnight. Remember lapse and re-lapse are appropriate parts of recovery and that you are not alone. Take a screen shot of this, have a picture of it on your phone, do anything you can to remind yourself that there is hope, with the right help and support you can live a life free of self-harm.
