I was wondering if I tell one of my lecturers at Uni that I self harm, will they tell anyone else, like my parents or GP? I have kept it a secret for too long because I'm scared of who people will tell. I think I should tell someone who I trust but i'm not sure who.

It is likely that the University will have a policy and protocol that they follow should someone disclose self-harm, they will only pass the information on to ensure you get the correct help and support!

It is great that you feel you can talk to your lecturers, but unlike teachers, lectures often have a much more solely academic roles. Instead, often universities have different departments, such as ‘Student Support’ or ‘Mental health’ ones. Have a look around and see what your options are. Research University protocol for such matters. If confidentiality is what you are looking for, perhaps a GP is the route to take. Not only can they provide professional help, but they will keep anything you say confidential.
All the best
